Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Finance Officer with a robust accounting background to join our dedicated team in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. This pivotal role will be instrumental in safeguarding and enhancing the financial health and reporting accuracy of our Hawaii operations, with a primary focus on our substantial development projects within the Ewa Beach region. As a Finance Officer, you will be entrusted with the oversight of daily accounting operations, the meticulous preparation of comprehensive financial statements, diligent management of project budgets, and ensuring unwavering compliance with all pertinent financial regulations and internal company policies. You will be a key collaborative partner, working closely with project managers, senior leadership, and various departmental heads to provide incisive financial analysis, strategic insights, and essential support for critical decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the full spectrum of daily accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and payroll functions specifically tailored to Hawaii-based projects.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, detailed reports, and in-depth analyses, ensuring strict adherence to GAAP.
  • Develop, meticulously monitor, and rigorously manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures align precisely with financial plans and proactively identifying and explaining variances for prompt corrective action.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, develop robust financial forecasts, and perform comprehensive risk assessments to strategically support planning and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure stringent adherence to all company financial policies, robust internal controls, and all applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Execute precise reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Provide comprehensive support and necessary documentation during internal and external audits, facilitating a smooth and efficient process.
  • Actively collaborate with project managers and department heads to offer valuable financial insights and data-driven support for critical business decisions.
  • Process and strategically manage cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet all operational and project-specific needs.
  • Implement and maintain robust and efficient financial record-keeping systems and procedures.
  • Actively participate in and lead special projects and financial initiatives as assigned by senior management, contributing to overall company goals.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
  • Strong and current understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Yardi) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive, accurate, and insightful financial reports and statements.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Prior experience within the real estate development, construction, or homebuilding industry.
  • Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA).
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
