Job Description
Are you a highly organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for customer service? Save-On-Foods in Fraser Heights, Surrey, is urgently seeking a dedicated and energetic Grocery Shelf Assistant to join our thriving team. As a Grocery Shelf Assistant, you will be the backbone of our store’s appearance and efficiency, responsible for ensuring that our shelves are consistently stocked, tidy, and inviting. You’ll be instrumental in receiving new shipments, accurately stocking merchandise on sales floors, rotating products to ensure freshness, and keeping aisles clean and accessible. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and organize incoming merchandise deliveries promptly and efficiently.
- Stock shelves, dairy cases, and freezer sections with new products, ensuring proper product placement and rotation.
- Maintain clean and organized backrooms and storage areas.
- Monitor product expiry dates and ensure older stock is moved to the front (FIFO principle).
- Face products on shelves to maintain an appealing and well-stocked appearance for customers.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely, as required (training provided).
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Remove damaged or expired products from shelves and dispose of them according to company policy.
- Support inventory management by assisting with stock counts and identifying discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy merchandise (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
