Key Responsibilities
- Administer a variety of professional massage and body treatments (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, reflexology) to guests.
- Conduct thorough client consultations to assess needs, identify contraindications, and tailor treatments accordingly.
- Maintain a pristine, organized, and sanitary treatment room, adhering strictly to all hygiene and safety protocols.
- Educate guests on the benefits of various treatments and recommend suitable home care solutions or future services to promote ongoing wellness.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships, ensuring repeat visits and high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently and accurately using spa booking systems.
- Actively participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and best practices.
- Assist in maintaining spa inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and reporting needs proactively.
- Collaborate effectively with other spa team members, including aestheticians and receptionists, to provide a cohesive and elevated guest experience.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality at all times.
Required Skills
- Nationally recognized certification or diploma in Massage Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Proven expertise and strong practical skills in various massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Reflexology, Aromatherapy).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Massage Therapist, preferably within a spa, luxury hotel, or high-end wellness center setting.
- Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology, as well as contraindications for massage.
- Exceptional communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with guests.
- Strong ability to create a calming, therapeutic, and respectful environment for clients.
- Impeccable personal presentation, hygiene, and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional language skills are a significant advantage.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical tasks required for delivering massage treatments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications in specialized massage techniques such as sports massage, prenatal massage, lymphatic drainage, or traditional African therapies.
- Experience working with luxury clientele and understanding the nuances of high-end spa operations.
- A strong portfolio or verifiable client testimonials showcasing exceptional expertise and client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in spa management software and booking systems.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
