Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and skilled VLSI Engineer with a passion for microelectronics and a desire to make an immediate impact? Intel Israel is seeking talented individuals to join our world-class design team in Haifa. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Intel’s processors and system-on-chips (SoCs). As a VLSI Engineer, you will be involved in various stages of the chip development lifecycle, from RTL design and synthesis to physical design and verification. You will work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, power-efficient, and reliable silicon solutions. We are looking for candidates who can hit the ground running, bringing their expertise to solve complex engineering challenges and drive innovation. If you thrive on technical challenges and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking technology from day one, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform RTL design and implementation using Verilog/VHDL for complex digital blocks and sub-systems.
  • Conduct synthesis, place & route, and timing closure activities, ensuring designs meet performance, power, and area targets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans, including functional simulation and formal verification.
  • Perform static timing analysis (STA) and power analysis to identify and resolve design bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, validation, and physical design teams to ensure seamless integration and successful tape-out.
  • Debug design issues at various stages of the flow, from RTL to GDSII.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation flows to enhance design efficiency and productivity.
  • Contribute to design specification, documentation, and design reviews.
  • Participate in silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation activities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of digital logic design principles and VLSI design flow.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL for RTL design and coding.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics) for synthesis, static timing analysis, and simulation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, TCL) for automation.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with advanced technology nodes (e.g., 7nm, 5nm, 3nm).
  • Familiarity with low-power design techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with formal verification techniques and tools.
  • Prior experience in CPU, GPU, or SoC design.
  • Knowledge of advanced verification methodologies like UVM/OVM.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Employee stock purchase program and retirement plans.
  • On-site fitness centers, cafeterias, and recreational facilities.
