Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of loan applications, including cash flow projections, collateral valuation, and industry risk assessment.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit appraisal reports and recommendations for various credit facilities (e.g., overdrafts, term loans, trade finance).
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements, management accounts, and other relevant financial data to determine creditworthiness.
  • Monitor existing credit portfolios, identify early warning signals, and recommend proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the bank's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with relationship managers and other internal stakeholders to structure appropriate credit solutions for clients.
  • Stay abreast of economic trends, industry developments, and changes in credit regulations that may impact credit risk.
  • Participate in credit committee meetings, presenting analysis and defending recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of credit risk models and tools.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Credit Analyst, preferably in a commercial bank or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, and credit risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of local and international banking regulations related to credit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
