Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our accounting team in Centerville, GA. In this crucial accounting role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable, including verifying invoices, preparing payment runs, and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Assist with accounts receivable functions, including posting payments, reconciling customer accounts, and preparing deposits.
  • Perform daily data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile bank statements and various general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and schedules as required by management.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both physical and electronic.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, members, and internal departments regarding financial transactions.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information securely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Financials).
  • Experience in a credit union or banking environment.
  • Knowledge of credit union operations and financial regulations.
