Job Description
Are you an experienced and reliable truck driver with a passion for precise logistics and timely deliveries? Sandals Negril is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in our resort’s daily operations. In this vital position, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of various goods, supplies, and equipment to and from our resort and designated external locations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy and light-duty trucks for the transportation of goods, supplies, and equipment as per daily schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all safety and operational components are in excellent working condition.
- Accurately complete vehicle logs, trip reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse staff, and other departments regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to management.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of items, contributing to the smooth operation of various resort departments.
- Represent Sandals Negril professionally during all off-site interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's Licence (ideally for heavy-duty vehicles)
- Clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving and delivery operations
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations in Negril and surrounding areas
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Defensive Driving.
- Experience working in a hospitality or resort environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures.
- Ability to operate a forklift or other material handling equipment.
