Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests, present menus, and inform them of daily specials and promotions.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Provide thoughtful recommendations, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring presentation and temperature standards are met.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs and requests throughout their dining experience.
- Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and manage end-of-shift reconciliation.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, side stations, and server alleys.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as responsible alcohol service practices.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer literacy.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a casual upscale or fine dining establishment.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, and cocktail pairings.
- ServeSafe or similar food handler certification.
- TIPS or equivalent alcohol awareness certification.
