Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join our esteemed accounting firm in Downtown Augusta. This pivotal role will oversee the financial health and operational efficiency of our firm, playing a crucial part in our strategic planning and continued growth. The Finance Manager will be responsible for a wide array of financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and ensuring robust internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all financial operations of the firm, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing regular variance analysis and reporting to leadership.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards.
- Oversee cash flow management, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing working capital.
- Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including client profitability, service line performance, and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies for services and manage financial aspects of client engagements.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, providing insights into revenue drivers, cost structures, and profitability.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
- Provide financial mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff within the firm.
- Utilize accounting software and financial systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within a professional services firm (e.g., accounting, law, consulting)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA, M.S. in Finance/Accounting)
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience with P&L management in an accounting or professional services environment
