Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Prepare simple food items like sandwiches, salads, and snacks according to established recipes and guidelines.
- Set up serving lines and ensure food is presented attractively and hygienically.
- Serve meals to students and staff with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and dining areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles.
- Support the lead cafeteria staff and cooks with various tasks as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and reporting hazards.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Strong commitment to cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles (or willingness to learn immediately).

- Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or customer service role (volunteer or paid).
