Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to health and safety standards.
- Ensure the kitchen work areas, equipment, and dining utensils are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed (e.g., washing vegetables, simple peeling).
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to maintain hygiene standards.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling appropriately and efficiently.
- Monitor dishwashing supplies and report needs to kitchen management to ensure continuous operation.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and hot items.
- Support the kitchen team with various tasks to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and busy periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation principles and safe handling practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is an asset.
