Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist with a special interest and expertise in rehabilitation to join our thriving team at Dore & Totley Physiotherapy Clinic. As a Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing tailored treatment plans, and implementing effective rehabilitation strategies for a diverse caseload of musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-operative patients. Your role will involve close collaboration with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to care. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough objective and subjective assessments to diagnose and understand patients' rehabilitation needs.
- Develop, implement, and continually review individualized rehabilitation programmes, including exercise prescription, manual therapy, and electrotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families on their condition, prognosis, and self-management strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, adapt treatment plans as necessary, and set realistic, achievable goals.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and timely patient records in accordance with professional and clinic standards.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with GPs, consultants, and other healthcare providers.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
- Actively participate in professional development, including internal training and external courses.
Required Skills
- BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in a musculoskeletal and/or neurological rehabilitation setting.
- Demonstrable expertise in assessment, clinical reasoning, and developing rehabilitation programmes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and motivate patients.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- Post-graduate training or certifications in specific rehabilitation techniques (e.g., Pilates, strength and conditioning, neurological rehabilitation).
- Experience with a variety of patient populations, including sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, and chronic pain management.
- Experience supervising junior staff or students.
