Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, empathetic, and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join Augusta University Health System, a prominent academic medical center dedicated to delivering world-class patient care, groundbreaking research, and comprehensive health education. As an HR Coordinator, you will serve as a crucial backbone for our Human Resources department, ensuring the seamless and efficient daily operations that support our vast and dedicated team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff. In this essential office-based role, you will often be the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing accurate and timely information, and guiding staff through a wide array of HR-related topics. Your responsibilities will encompass everything from meticulously assisting with the new hire onboarding process, including background checks and orientation scheduling, to diligently managing employee data within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS). You will also play a key part in coordinating benefits administration, processing HR-related paperwork, and ensuring our practices remain in strict compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as Augusta University Health System’s internal policies and procedures. You will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Recruiters, and other HR specialists to maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment, directly contributing to our overarching mission of enhancing the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.
- Assist with full-cycle onboarding processes, including background checks, new hire paperwork, and orientation scheduling.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) with precision and confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration by assisting employees with enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Process HR-related documentation, such as new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
- Coordinate HR projects, meetings, and training sessions as needed.
- Assist with employee relations activities, including data gathering and documentation.
- Generate HR reports and analytics to support departmental objectives.
- Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Coordinator or similar role (minimum 2 years).
- Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Customer service-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
