Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat regarding insurance policies, claims, and services.
  • Provide accurate, comprehensive, and clear information to customers, explaining complex policy details and processes in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Assist customers with policy changes, billing questions, payment processing, and general account maintenance.
  • Actively listen to customer needs, identify potential pain points, and offer appropriate solutions or escalate issues to specialized departments when necessary.
  • Document all customer interactions, inquiries, and resolutions accurately and efficiently in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge across all State Farm insurance offerings and financial services.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance in all interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Proactively identify potential cross-selling opportunities for additional State Farm products and services when appropriate and beneficial to the customer.
  • Maintain a quiet, secure, and dedicated home workspace with reliable high-speed internet connectivity and minimal distractions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a customer service or call center environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional, and empathetic demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively listen, empathize, and build strong rapport with diverse customers.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer applications and systems simultaneously with speed and accuracy.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum recommended speeds will be provided) and a quiet, secure home office environment free from interruptions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working in a remote or virtual customer service role.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services (e.g., Property & Casualty, Life & Health insurance).
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and cloud-based telephony systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
