Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse array of essential tasks. This includes the meticulous cleaning and sanitization of all kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and utensils, as well as maintaining the spotless condition of workstations, food storage areas, and dishwashing stations. You will assist with fundamental food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients, always ensuring that everything is prepped according to our chef’s exacting specifications. Proper handling, rotation, and storage of all food items, alongside diligent management of kitchen inventory and assisting with deliveries, will also fall under your purview, directly contributing to minimizing waste and maintaining optimal stock levels. Key Responsibilities
- Execute thorough cleaning and sanitization of kitchen equipment, workstations, and dishware.
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of food items according to FIFO principles.
- Receive and organize deliveries, verifying contents and storing items appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dry storage, walk-in refrigerators, and freezers.
- Operate dishwashing machinery and hand-wash delicate items efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP, local health codes).
- Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, reporting shortages or discrepancies to management.
- Support the culinary team during peak service periods to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Empty trash receptacles and manage recycling in kitchen areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management to ensure efficient operations.
