Job Description

Ethio Telecom is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Facilities Manager to join our dynamic team in Addis Ababa. As an Entry-Level Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our various facilities. You will assist senior facilities personnel in managing day-to-day operations, coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to the overall upkeep of our buildings and infrastructure. This role offers hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of facilities functions, providing a solid foundation for a successful career in the field. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our employees and critical assets, directly contributing to our operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of company facilities, including office buildings, technical sites, and other properties.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and other services, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement, documenting findings accurately.
  • Help manage and track facility-related requests through the appropriate systems, ensuring timely and effective resolution and communication.
  • Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across all facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in inventory management of facility supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper asset tracking.
  • Prepare basic reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, and expenditures, contributing to budget monitoring.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and provide immediate support as needed, escalating issues appropriately to senior management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their facility requirements and ensure a productive and comfortable work environment.
  • Learn and apply best practices in sustainable facilities management, energy efficiency, and waste reduction initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English and Amharic for effective interaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and data management.
  • Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and general maintenance principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in a facilities, administrative, or operational support role.
  • Familiarity with local health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software or similar systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites if required.
