As an IT Support Officer at MTN, you will be the primary point of contact for our employees’ technical challenges, ensuring the continuous and efficient functioning of our IT systems across various departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to MTN staff via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and mobile devices.
  • Assist with network connectivity issues, including LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other systems.
  • Conduct regular IT asset inventory and ensure proper tracking and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide user training and create documentation for common IT procedures and FAQs.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate senior IT personnel or external vendors.
  • Monitor IT systems and applications for performance and availability, addressing alerts promptly.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and security initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with MTN's IT policies, procedures, and security best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and repair (desktops, laptops, printers).
  • Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory user and computer management.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management (ITSM) principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Familiarity with specific enterprise applications used in the telecommunications industry.
