Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement engaging visual merchandising displays for all non-food categories, seasonal promotions, and impulse purchase areas.
- Ensure all visual displays are consistent with Tesco's brand guidelines, standards, and commercial objectives.
- Regularly refresh and update displays to reflect new product arrivals, promotional cycles, and seasonal themes.
- Utilize space effectively to maximize product visibility and drive sales, enhancing the overall customer journey.
- Collaborate with store management and sales teams to understand product priorities and implement strategies that support business goals.
- Conduct regular store walkthroughs to identify opportunities for visual enhancements and maintain high standards of presentation.
- Manage and maintain visual merchandising tools, props, and fixtures, ensuring they are in excellent condition.
- Train and support store colleagues on basic visual merchandising principles and best practices.
- Monitor competitor activities and emerging retail trends to inspire innovative display concepts.
- Provide feedback on display effectiveness and suggest improvements based on observations and sales data.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in visual merchandising within a retail environment.
- Exceptional creativity and a strong portfolio showcasing visual display design and implementation.
- Excellent understanding of design principles, color theory, and spatial arrangement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in visual merchandising software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design, or a related creative field.
- Previous experience working with a large-scale retailer or supermarket chain.
- Knowledge of current retail trends and consumer behaviour in the grocery and general merchandise sectors.
- Experience in training and guiding junior staff or store colleagues on visual standards.
