Key Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders in setting up and stocking the bar for service, including preparing garnishes, cutting fruit, and stocking ice.
- Ensure all necessary glassware, spirits, mixers, and other bar supplies are readily available and organized throughout service.
- Restock fridges, liquor shelves, and dry storage areas as needed, maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down counters, cleaning spills, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Wash and polish glassware to ensure a continuous supply of clean, sparkling glasses for guest service.
- Assist with receiving and storing beverage deliveries, verifying quantities and quality according to company standards.
- Support the bartending team during peak hours, anticipating their needs and promptly fulfilling requests to ensure smooth operations.
- Learn about various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including brand names, types, and basic preparation methods.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including Smart Serve practices (training provided if not already certified).
- Perform end-of-shift cleaning duties and assist with closing procedures for the bar area.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment by collaborating effectively with all team members.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude are key.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy restaurant environment.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or legal drinking age in Ontario).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any industry.
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain it upon hire).
- Basic understanding of bar operations or a strong interest in mixology and the hospitality industry.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
