Job Description
Seplat Energy is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Lemna, Calabar. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for a seasoned professional ready to take on critical projects within our expanding operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the full lifecycle of complex engineering projects, from initial conception and planning through execution, monitoring, control, and closure. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards, adhering strictly to Seplat’s operational guidelines and international best practices in the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of complex engineering projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, work breakdown structures, resource allocation, and detailed schedules.
- Oversee project execution, monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams, providing leadership, guidance, and technical support to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant industry standards, company policies, health, safety, environmental (HSE) regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure seamless project coordination and communication.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource utilization.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, performance metrics, and forecasts to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project management processes and engineering practices.
- Facilitate risk assessments and implement corrective actions to ensure project integrity and successful delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, particularly in upstream or midstream operations.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and negotiate contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and regulations within the energy sector.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience with capital projects (CAPEX) in the Nigerian context.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
- Experience in managing gas processing or infrastructure projects.
