Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Help Desk Technician to join our dynamic IT support team in Stockholm for an immediate start. This is a critical role at Knowit, where you will be the first point of contact for our employees, providing essential technical assistance and ensuring seamless operations across our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and resolve a wide array of hardware and software issues, ensuring our team members remain productive and efficient. This includes everything from setting up new workstations, managing user accounts, and addressing network connectivity problems to supporting various business applications and cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to internal users via phone, email, and in-person, ensuring timely and effective resolution of IT issues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices) and software (Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, specific business applications) problems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other identity management systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi connectivity) and VPN issues.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures accurately in our ticketing system (Jira Service Desk).
  • Onboard new employees by setting up workstations, accounts, and providing initial IT orientation.
  • Support meeting room technology, including video conferencing systems.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on more complex issues and infrastructure projects.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Help Desk, IT Support, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and macOS operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Experience with Active Directory user and group management.
  • Familiarity with hardware components, basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and VPN clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals).
  • Experience with Jira Service Management or similar ITSM tools.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS, Android).
  • Understanding of IT security best practices.
