Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operational functions of the department store, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage comprehensive inventory control processes, including receiving, processing, visual merchandising, replenishment, and returns, to minimize shrink and optimize stock levels.
  • Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies, conduct regular audits, and train staff on security protocols to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure the store maintains exceptional visual merchandising standards, collaborating with sales teams to create compelling displays that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operational staff, providing ongoing training, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Monitor and analyze operational KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance store performance.
  • Manage store facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety compliance, and timely resolution of maintenance issues to provide a comfortable shopping and working environment.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, banking, and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with the store management team to align operational strategies with overall business objectives and sales goals.
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to operational matters with professionalism and efficiency.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in retail operations management, preferably within a department store or large retail format.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of loss prevention principles and strategies.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, typical of a retail environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
