Job Description
Olaniwun Ajayi LP is seeking a diligent and meticulous Janitor to join our Facilities team at our esteemed office in Asokoro, Abuja. This pivotal role ensures that our professional workspace remains immaculate, hygienic, and conducive to a productive work environment for our legal professionals and visiting clients. As a Janitor, you will be instrumental in upholding the high standards of cleanliness and order that are characteristic of our firm. Your daily efforts will directly contribute to creating a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, ensuring all areas, from private offices to common spaces and restrooms, are maintained to exceptional levels. This is a full-time position requiring a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to facility maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing furniture, and wiping surfaces in all office areas, meeting rooms, and common spaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, ensuring adequate supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand towels) are maintained and replenished regularly.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse appropriately, including segregating recyclable materials where applicable.
- Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and doors, maintaining a streak-free appearance.
- Maintain cleanliness of reception areas, corridors, stairwells, and other high-traffic zones.
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks, such as scrubbing floors, cleaning carpets, and polishing fixtures.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed within the premises to the appropriate supervisor.
- Manage and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring they are kept in good working order and stored safely.
- Stock and maintain cleaning supply inventory, notifying management when supplies are low.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Assist with setting up and tidying up for office events or meetings as required.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out with minimal disruption to office operations and with respect for the privacy of staff and clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Janitor, Cleaner, or in a similar role within a professional office environment.
- Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to cleaning and waste disposal.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a team player.
