Key Responsibilities

  • Execute event decor setup and styling according to detailed design plans and client specifications.
  • Install various decorative elements, including draping, lighting fixtures, floral arrangements, props, and signage.
  • Arrange furniture, linens, and other event rental items to create aesthetically pleasing and functional layouts.
  • Ensure all decor elements are safely and securely installed, adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the design team, project managers, and on-site event staff to ensure seamless execution.
  • Oversee the efficient dismantling and careful packing of decor elements post-event, ensuring items are handled with utmost care.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of decor items, promptly reporting any damages, shortages, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with prep work at the warehouse, including cleaning, repairing, and organizing decor inventory.
  • Proactively problem-solve on-site challenges creatively and efficiently, adapting plans as necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service during all client interactions at event venues.
  • Contribute creative ideas and innovative solutions to enhance event designs and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints, ensuring projects are completed effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in event decorating, visual merchandising, set design, or a closely related creative field.
  • Strong aesthetic sense and an excellent, meticulous eye for detail and spatial arrangement.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret design briefs and translate them into stunning physical setups.
  • Proficiency in safely handling various decor materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude and high adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various event venues across Scotland.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in event management, interior design, visual arts, set design, or a related creative discipline.
  • Experience with professional event lighting and sound equipment setup and operation.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing previous event decoration or styling work.

  • Experience driving larger vans or commercial vehicles.
