Key Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately process room service orders, including taking orders over the phone or through other communication channels.
- Prepare and set up room service trays and carts with all necessary food, beverages, condiments, and service items according to Delta Hotels by Marriott standards.
- Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high standards of presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service, addressing any special requests or dietary requirements.
- Process guest payments accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and room charges in compliance with hotel policies.
- Clear used trays and dishes from guest rooms and hallways, ensuring cleanliness and proper sanitation procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the room service pantry, storage areas, and equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as hotel health and safety policies.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, front desk, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex matters to management.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication and mutual respect.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic mathematical skills for processing orders and payments
- Ability to lift and carry trays or operate room service carts (up to 25 lbs)
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a hotel, restaurant, or food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset
