Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly and promptly.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT) and assist in tax computations and filings.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management for decision-making.
- Support the treasury function by monitoring cash flow, managing liquidity, and optimizing working capital.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Handle inter-company reconciliations and financial consolidation where applicable.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information exchange.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, Sage)
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or CPA.
