Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly and promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT) and assist in tax computations and filings.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management for decision-making.
  • Support the treasury function by monitoring cash flow, managing liquidity, and optimizing working capital.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Handle inter-company reconciliations and financial consolidation where applicable.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information exchange.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, Sage)
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or CPA.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
