Job Description
We are seeking a highly talented and experienced Architect to join our vibrant team in Bristol, focusing on building design and planning. This is an exceptional opportunity for an architect with proven design capabilities and a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from conceptualisation to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design development from concept through to detailed design stages, ensuring alignment with client briefs, budget, and programme.
- Produce high-quality architectural drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Manage and coordinate project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, addressing any design or construction issues that may arise.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, building regulations submissions, and other statutory approvals.
- Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities, presenting designs and managing expectations.
- Ensure all projects comply with UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainable design principles.
- Mentor junior architectural staff and contribute to the overall knowledge sharing within the practice.
- Actively participate in business development activities, including bidding for new projects and client relationship management.
Required Skills
- ARB registered Architect (or equivalent international registration with UK recognition)
- RIBA Part III qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in architectural practice, preferably within the UK.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for producing detailed construction drawings.
- Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of UK building regulations, planning policy, and construction processes.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific sectors such as education, healthcare, or mixed-use developments.
- Proficiency in advanced BIM software and methodologies.
- Accreditation in sustainable design (e.g., BREEAM Assessor, Passivhaus Designer).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentations and graphics.
- Demonstrable experience in leading client meetings and design workshops.
