Nigerian Breweries Plc, a proud member of the Heineken Company and Nigeria’s pioneer brewing company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at our Elimgbu, Obio-Akpor facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art brewing and packaging machinery, contributing directly to our production excellence and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventative maintenance programs on all brewery and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend asset life.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production lines.
- Perform corrective maintenance, including repairing or replacing defective parts, and adjusting machinery to specification.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid restoration of production.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, spare parts used, and equipment history.
- Collaborate with production operators and engineers to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians or production staff as required.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or machinery upgrades.
Required Skills
- Minimum of OND/HND in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors).
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including motor controls, sensors, and wiring.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems, including PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade Test I, II, or III certification.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Prior experience in the food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with brewing and packaging equipment (e.g., fillers, pasteurizers, labelers).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Ability to operate basic machine shop tools (e.g., lathe, milling machine).
