As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our bustling distribution center. You will be responsible for the accurate reception, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of products, from raw materials to finished goods, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming goods, ensuring quantities match delivery notes and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Efficiently store products in designated warehouse locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring easy accessibility.
  • Prepare and pack outgoing orders according to strict dispatch schedules and customer requirements.
  • Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, following all company guidelines (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Conduct regular stock counts and participate in inventory reconciliation activities to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments (e.g., logistics, production) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE certificate.
  • Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Certification in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift license).
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Residency in or proximity to Rukpokwu, Obio-Akpor.
