Key Responsibilities
- Execute all phases of jewelry manufacturing, including design conceptualization, metal fabrication, soldering, filing, polishing, and finishing.
- Perform expert stone setting (pavé, bezel, prong, channel, etc.) for various types of gemstones.
- Conduct intricate jewelry repairs, restorations, and resizing for a wide range of precious metals and designs.
- Custom-create bespoke jewelry pieces based on client specifications and design briefs.
- Manage and maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and adhering to safety protocols.
- Oversee inventory of precious metals, gemstones, and other workshop supplies, assisting with procurement as needed.
- Conduct quality control checks at various stages of production to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship are met.
- Collaborate with the design team and sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction and product excellence.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and materials to continuously enhance craft and service offerings.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in metal fabrication, soldering (laser and torch), and annealing techniques.
- Expertise in various stone setting methods and diamond/gemstone handling.
- Demonstrable skill in jewelry repair, resizing, and restoration.
- Strong understanding of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) and their properties.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal apprenticeship or relevant vocational training in goldsmithing or jewelry arts.
- Knowledge of gemology and gem identification.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for jewelry design (e.g., Rhino, Matrix).
