Are you a skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Electrician looking for a challenging yet rewarding role with a leading local contractor? Greenhill Electrical Ltd is seeking a dedicated and qualified Electrician to join our growing team in Nailsea, Bristol. This pivotal role involves a comprehensive range of electrical tasks across both domestic and industrial environments, offering a varied and stimulating workload every day. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diverse electrical systems, ensuring all work adheres strictly to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and all relevant health and safety standards.

From new build domestic installations, consumer unit upgrades, smart home technology integration, and efficient fault finding in residential properties, to complex industrial machinery wiring, robust control panel installations, three-phase system maintenance, and essential emergency lighting solutions in manufacturing plants, agricultural facilities, or large commercial units, your expertise will be crucial. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in diverse domestic, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Conduct thorough testing, inspection, and certification of electrical installations, ensuring full compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Diagnose and rectify complex electrical faults and malfunctions efficiently and safely.
  • Perform periodic electrical inspections and provide detailed condition reports (EICR).
  • Install and connect control panels, motor control centres, industrial machinery, and associated cabling.
  • Upgrade and replace consumer units and switchgear in residential and light commercial properties.
  • Read, interpret, and work accurately from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with clients, explaining technical details in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Manage workload and project timelines, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and necessary documentation.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to apprentices or junior electricians if required.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry standards and technologies.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognized qualification).
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
  • Minimum 4 years of proven post-qualification experience as a qualified Electrician, encompassing both domestic and industrial environments.
  • Full, clean UK Driving License.
  • Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of health and safety legislation pertinent to electrical work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrable commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification (or equivalent, e.g., 2394/2395).
  • Valid ECS Gold Card.
  • IPAF (Powered Access Licence) and/or PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association) certification.
  • Experience with PLC control systems or industrial automation.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with renewable energy electrical systems (e.g., solar PV).
