Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gardener – Landscaping and Outdoor Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Naggo Head, Portmore. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine gardening tasks including mowing, weeding, pruning, trimming, and fertilizing lawns and garden beds.
- Plant, cultivate, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants according to seasonal and aesthetic requirements.
- Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper watering schedules and addressing any issues promptly.
- Monitor plant health, identify common pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring their safe and effective use.
- Keep outdoor areas clean and tidy, including sweeping pathways, clearing debris, and emptying waste bins.
- Execute minor landscaping projects, such as planting new garden beds or laying mulch, under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to gardening and grounds maintenance.
- Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various gardening tools and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of common Jamaican plants, shrubs, and trees, including their care requirements.
- Ability to identify and address common plant pests and diseases.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and water management.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
