Job Description

As an HR Officer, you will be instrumental in supporting the full spectrum of HR functions, ensuring smooth operations, compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive employee experience. You will act as a key point of contact for employees, assisting with queries, implementing HR policies, and contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and employee development initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and assisting with offer letters.
  • Conduct comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the company culture and operational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR information systems (HRIS), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including payroll processing support and benefits enrollment.
  • Provide first-line support to employees on HR-related queries, policies, and procedures, fostering a supportive and open communication environment.
  • Support employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling in accordance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Facilitate HR initiatives and programs, such as performance management, training and development, and employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Nigerian labor laws, regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Prepare various HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in Human Resources, specifically within an HR Officer or similar generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and industrial relations practices.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, HRCI, SHRM) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Familiarity with various talent acquisition strategies and tools.
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
