Are you a meticulous and driven procurement professional with a passion for optimizing supply chains and ensuring value for money? PepsiCo, through its esteemed bottling partner, Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc, is seeking a highly motivated Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Okrika, Port Harcourt. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for a wide array of goods and services essential for our operational excellence. This includes everything from raw materials and packaging to machinery, utilities, and general administrative supplies. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with company objectives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with our rigorous ethical and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional negotiation prowess, and a deep understanding of market trends within the FMCG sector. Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Develop and implement robust procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and efficiency targets without compromising quality.
- Manage and cultivate strong relationships with existing and new suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and service levels.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, market trends, and innovative procurement solutions.
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance, conducting regular reviews and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information.
- Assist in the preparation of annual procurement budgets and track expenditures against approved budgets.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of operations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a procurement role, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP).
- Experience with strategic sourcing and category management.
- Familiarity with Nigerian customs, import/export regulations, and local supplier networks.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Ability to speak local Nigerian languages (e.g., Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa) is a plus.
