CONGO PRESTIGE CONSTRUCTION is seeking a talented and experienced Tile Installer specializing in finishing work to join our growing team in Lisala, Mongala Province. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for tiling, including cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing membranes.
- Accurately measure, cut, and install various types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic) on floors, walls, and other surfaces.
- Mix and apply mortar, grout, and adhesives correctly according to product specifications.
- Ensure consistent spacing, alignment, and levelness of tiles for a superior finish.
- Perform intricate cutting and fitting of tiles around obstacles and in challenging areas.
- Apply appropriate finishing techniques, including grouting, sealing, and polishing, to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing result.
- Inspect finished installations for quality, rectifying any imperfections or inconsistencies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and site regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, managing tools and materials efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals and project managers.
- Provide expert advice on tile selection, patterns, and maintenance to clients or supervisors.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Tile Installer, with a strong focus on finishing work.
- Proficiency in cutting tools (wet saws, tile cutters, nippers) and other tiling equipment.
- Expert knowledge of different tile materials, adhesives, mortars, and grouts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for symmetry and precision.
- Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot tiling challenges.
- Commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in tiling or a related trade.
- Experience with specialized tiling techniques such as large format tiles, intricate mosaics, or custom designs.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems related to wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within Lisala and surrounding areas.
