Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and store incoming goods accurately, checking for discrepancies or damages against delivery notes.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, optimizing space utilization and accessibility.
  • Pick and pack orders according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation for dispatch.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
  • Assist with inventory counts, perform cycle counts, and participate in comprehensive stock-taking activities as required.
  • Conduct routine checks on warehouse equipment and report any malfunctions, damages, or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve daily operational goals and resolve any logistical challenges.
  • Assist in loading outgoing shipments onto trucks and ensuring proper documentation, such as waybills and manifests, is accurately completed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse premises, contributing to a professional and efficient workspace.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the shift and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory, verifying shipments, and fulfilling orders.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading labels, counting stock, completing forms, and understanding instructions.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety guidelines meticulously, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical stamina and endurance for standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or similar physical role.
  • Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures, inventory management principles, and stock rotation techniques.
  • High School Leaving Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or equivalent qualification.
  • Forklift operation certification or prior experience operating material handling equipment (though comprehensive training will be provided if needed).
  • Familiarity with the Onne Port area and local logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for inventory tracking or data entry.
