PepsiCo, through its bottling partner Seven-Up Bottling Company, is looking for an enthusiastic Production Operator to join our dynamic team in Port Harcourt. This is a pivotal role within our state-of-the-art bottling facility, where you will be instrumental in the efficient and safe production of world-class beverages enjoyed by millions. As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of various production machinery and processes, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will play a crucial role in monitoring equipment, conducting routine checks, and adhering to strict production schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production line machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and output.
- Perform routine quality checks on products, packaging, and raw materials to ensure adherence to company standards and specifications.
- Monitor production processes, making necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Conduct minor troubleshooting and basic maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve production targets.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, complying with housekeeping standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Required Skills
- Minimum of SSCE/OND in a relevant technical field.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in FMCG.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machinery operation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks accurately.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in varying temperatures.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to operational guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or vocational training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Operations.
- Previous experience operating bottling or packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and food safety standards.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
