Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Supervisor to join our dynamic logistics team in Port Harcourt. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our extensive fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective distribution of Coca-Cola products across the region. The Fleet Supervisor will play a pivotal role in optimizing routes, managing drivers, ensuring vehicle uptime, and upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance. You will be instrumental in scheduling maintenance, managing fuel consumption, monitoring driver performance, and implementing best practices to enhance our supply chain efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the company's vehicle fleet, including trucks, vans, and utility vehicles.
- Plan and schedule vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
- Manage and supervise a team of drivers, including scheduling, performance monitoring, training, and adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle mileage, and other operational costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure all fleet operations comply with local transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Implement and manage vehicle tracking systems to optimize routes, improve delivery times, and enhance security.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintain detailed records of vehicle conditions, service history, and operational data.
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, budget adherence, maintenance schedules, and incident management for management review.
- Coordinate with suppliers for vehicle parts, fuel, and external maintenance services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement emergency response procedures for vehicle breakdowns or accidents.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of fleet management processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management and logistics, preferably in the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, maintenance scheduling, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of drivers and support staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of local transportation laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification in fleet management or logistics (e.g., CILT, CIPSMN).
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for heavy vehicles.
