Key Responsibilities
- Execute timely and accurate delivery of PC Express grocery orders to customer homes or designated pickup points across the Dundas and broader Hamilton area.
- Safely operate company vehicles (or personal vehicle if approved and insured) in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies, always prioritizing safety.
- Efficiently load and unload orders, ensuring products are handled with utmost care to prevent damage, especially for fragile or temperature-sensitive items.
- Verify order accuracy with customers upon delivery and accurately process any necessary payments or adjustments.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally and courteously, always striving for customer delight.
- Optimize delivery routes using provided tools and personal knowledge to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled delivery windows consistently.
- Maintain cleanliness and conduct basic operational checks of the delivery vehicle before and after shifts.
- Adhere to all food safety and handling procedures throughout the entire delivery process, from store to customer.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with dispatch and customer service teams regarding delivery status, potential delays, or customer feedback.
- Represent Fortino's brand positively and professionally at all times through appearance, conduct, and communication.
Required Skills
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record (abstract may be requested).
- Proven experience with safe driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly, and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Proficiency in using navigation apps and GPS devices to find optimal routes.
- Customer-focused mindset with a positive attitude and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 6+ months) in a delivery, courier, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with the Dundas, Hamilton, and surrounding areas, including common routes and traffic patterns.
- Experience working in a retail or grocery environment, understanding product handling and customer expectations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles for routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and delivery processes.
