Job Description
Are you a dedicated and diligent individual with a keen eye for cleanliness and a commitment to maintaining hygienic environments? REGIDESO Kikwit is seeking a motivated ‘Cleaner – Street & Facility’ to join our essential team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the pristine condition of our various facilities, including offices, technical sites, and public areas, as well as contributing to the cleanliness of the surrounding streets and communal spaces within our operational zones. Your efforts will directly support a healthy and safe environment for our staff, visitors, and the broader community in Kikwit. You will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning duties, from routine daily tasks to more intensive periodic cleaning, utilizing various tools and techniques to achieve the highest standards of hygiene and tidiness. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties in office buildings, technical sites, and administrative facilities, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, and cleaning windows.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to the highest standards of hygiene and public health.
- Empty trash cans, sort waste according to established guidelines, and dispose of refuse in designated areas, adhering to local waste management regulations.
- Clean and maintain external premises, including sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and designated street sections around REGIDESO facilities, removing litter, debris, and other refuse.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers (where applicable) safely and efficiently, ensuring their longevity and proper function.
- Report any observed maintenance needs, damaged items, or potential safety hazards to the immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
- Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumable items, and assist in maintaining an organized inventory.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning initiatives, and event setups/teardowns as required by operational needs.
- Ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed in a thorough, timely, and efficient manner, meeting established quality standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various cleaning techniques, equipment, and cleaning products.
- Ability to work diligently and effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina, strength, and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of health, hygiene, and safety standards relevant to cleaning operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively (basic French or local languages like Lingala, Kikongo are highly beneficial).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a commercial, institutional, or public utility setting.
- Familiarity with waste segregation, recycling practices, and environmentally friendly cleaning methods.
- Certification or training in hygiene and sanitation practices (basic level).
- Proficiency in French and/or local languages such as Lingala or Kikongo.
