As a Yoga Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and leading a variety of yoga classes, from high-energy Vinyasa flows that build strength and flexibility, to calming Hatha and restorative sessions focusing on deep relaxation and meditative practices. You will adeptly guide practitioners of all levels, from beginners discovering the joy of yoga to advanced students seeking to deepen their practice. Your expertise will help them to connect with their breath, refine their alignment, and achieve their personal fitness and wellness goals while fostering a sense of inner peace and resilience.

This role requires someone who is not only skilled in yoga asanas but also deeply knowledgeable and adept at incorporating mindfulness and meditation techniques seamlessly into classes. Your ability to adapt instruction to individual needs, provide clear and encouraging demonstrations, and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive space will be paramount. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging and safe yoga classes, incorporating various styles (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative) with a focus on fitness and meditation.
  • Provide clear, concise, and inspiring instruction, demonstrations, and modifications for all levels of practitioners.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and serene class environment that encourages member participation and growth.
  • Integrate mindfulness and meditation techniques effectively into yoga sessions to promote mental clarity and stress reduction.
  • Educate clients on proper alignment, breathing techniques (pranayama), and the philosophy of yoga for holistic well-being.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor, actively engaging with members and building strong client relationships.
  • Ensure the studio space is clean, organized, and adequately equipped before and after classes.
  • Stay current with best practices in yoga instruction, fitness trends, and meditation techniques through continuous learning.
  • Offer personalized adjustments and support to individual students, addressing their unique needs and limitations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification or equivalent recognized certification.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) teaching various yoga styles to diverse groups and individuals.
  • In-depth knowledge of yoga philosophy, anatomy, physiology, and proper alignment principles.
  • Strong ability to lead guided meditation and mindfulness practices effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different skill levels and physical conditions.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced yoga certifications (e.g., 500-hour RYT, specialized certifications in Yin, Prenatal, etc.).
  • Experience in specific meditation modalities (e.g., Vipassana, Transcendental Meditation).
  • Background in fitness training or personal training.
  • Ability to create and curate inspiring playlists for classes.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling and booking software.
  • A strong personal practice and commitment to a yogic lifestyle.
