Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to established menus, dietary restrictions, and portion control guidelines.
- Deliver patient trays to rooms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to patient preferences and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation spaces.
- Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and proper storage of food and supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, and dishwashers.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Stock food service areas with appropriate supplies and monitor inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations, hospital policies, and health department codes.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient meal service operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow recipes and safety instructions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and push/pull carts.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience (6+ months) in food service, hospitality, or a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of special diets and dietary restrictions.
- Current Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification.
