Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including filling machines, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, and utility systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct regular inspections and make necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance data.
- Collaborate with production operators, supervisors, and other technicians to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians or production staff as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment (FMCG preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and industrial wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and maintenance software.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience with beverage bottling or packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems or industrial boilers.
