As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily flow of goods within our Port Harcourt distribution center. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities against invoices and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage products according to daily orders, ensuring correct product codes and quantities.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (with proper certification/training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist in reconciliation efforts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and ensure they are securely stacked and protected for transit.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or stock discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including waste management and facility upkeep.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and order fulfillment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to handle documentation and verify quantities.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
- Certification for operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
