This pivotal full-time position offers a unique gateway into the world of construction logistics, providing comprehensive training and a supportive environment for individuals eager to learn and grow. As a Construction Material Carrier, you will be instrumental in the smooth operation of our material flow, ensuring that our high-quality products are moved, loaded, and prepared for dispatch or internal transfer with precision and care. Your daily tasks will involve more than just carrying; you’ll learn about inventory management, operate various material handling equipment (with proper training), and adhere strictly to safety protocols, all while contributing directly to the timely delivery of materials that build homes and infrastructure across our communities. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload construction materials, including bricks, stones, and related products, manually and using appropriate equipment.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the facility, staging zones, or onto delivery vehicles.
- Verify material quantities against order forms and delivery manifests, ensuring accuracy.
- Perform routine safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and pathways.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as counting, sorting, and tagging materials.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team atmosphere.
- Potentially assist with general yard maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills (written and verbal in English).
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid G Class Driver's License in Ontario with a clean driving record (for potential operation of company vehicles).
