Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join our Accounting Division in East Side, New Britain. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for clients.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Prepare journal entries and ensure proper coding of financial transactions.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with senior accountants and managers to ensure client needs are met.
- Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise.
- Contribute to process improvements within the accounting division to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Adhere to all accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain meticulous records.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a public accounting firm.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, CCH ProSystem fx Engagement).
- Experience with financial data analysis and reporting.
- Progress towards CPA certification or other relevant professional designations.
