Job Description
TotalEnergies is seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our offshore team as an Oil Rig Worker – Offshore Support. This critical role involves working directly on our offshore platforms, providing essential support to drilling, production, and maintenance operations. As an integral part of the crew, you will perform a variety of demanding physical tasks in a challenging marine environment, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the rig. This position demands a strong commitment to safety protocols, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to a rotational work schedule offshore. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of equipment, tools, and supplies on the rig.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting, and greasing of equipment and machinery.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Support drilling operations by handling pipe, operating power tongs, and assisting with mud logging.
- Participate in emergency drills and maintain readiness for quick response to incidents such as fires or man overboard situations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental protection procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a diverse team, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including life rafts, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the mooring and unmooring of supply vessels and other marine crafts.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy industrial settings, construction, or maritime operations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Excellent team player with strong communication skills.
- High level of safety awareness and commitment to following procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a rotational schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in an offshore environment.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive physical examination and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on oil rigs, ships, or other offshore facilities.
- Certification in basic offshore safety induction and emergency training (BOSIET).
- Knowledge of basic rigging and lifting procedures.
- Vocational training or technical certifications in a relevant trade (e.g., mechanics, welding).
- Proficiency in Swahili or French in addition to English.
