Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Fuel Distribution Operator to join our dynamic team at our depot in Kananga, Kasaï-Central Province. This critical role involves the safe and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of petroleum products, ensuring the continuous supply of energy to our customers and partners across the region. As a Fuel Distribution Operator, you will be an integral part of our logistics chain, responsible for executing daily operational tasks with precision and adherence to strict safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely receive, store, and dispatch various petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, etc.) at the depot.
  • Operate and monitor pumps, valves, meters, and other equipment used in fuel transfer operations.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
  • Perform accurate inventory checks and reconcile stock levels, reporting any discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload fuel trucks, ensuring proper documentation and secure product transfer.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the depot premises and equipment.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery notes, manifests, and incident reports, with accuracy.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and maintain readiness for any operational incidents.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, drivers, and supervisory staff to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an industrial or logistics environment, preferably in fuel or hazardous materials handling.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to industrial safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment checks and minor troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or certification in a relevant field (e.g., mechanics, logistics, industrial operations).
  • Experience with fuel dispensing systems and inventory management software.
  • Valid heavy vehicle driver's license (e.g., Class C or equivalent).
  • Certification in hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT).
