Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Support the procurement team in negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs to prevent stockouts.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Help to evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, logistics, production) to ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Prepare various procurement reports and analyses to aid decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or administrative support role, preferably within an FMCG environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, APICS).
  • Familiarity with Nigerian market dynamics and supplier landscape.
  • Experience with contract management and vendor relationship management.
