Job Description

Unilever is seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to join our vibrant team in Port Harcourt, with a specific focus on the Nzimiro Road area and its environs. Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned sales targets for Unilever products within the designated territory (Nzimiro Road, Port Harcourt, and surrounding areas).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential retail outlets, wholesalers, and distributors.
  • Ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and display in all retail points through effective merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess market conditions, competitor activities, and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Present new products and promotions to customers, negotiating favorable terms and securing orders.
  • Manage inventory levels at customer locations to prevent out-of-stock situations and minimize returns.
  • Collect payments from customers in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to company policies.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports, market feedback, and competitive intelligence to management.
  • Implement marketing and promotional campaigns effectively at the point of sale.
  • Train and educate retailers on product features, benefits, and best practices for display and sales.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of proven field sales experience, preferably in FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of the Port Harcourt market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and work independently.
  • High level of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic for sales calculations and reporting.
  • Ability to use a smartphone for sales reporting and communication.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to commute within the territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/BSc in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with Unilever or another major FMCG company.
  • Fluency in local languages spoken in Port Harcourt.
  • Experience with sales automation tools or CRM software.
